February 24-25, 2002
Monday and Tuesday, February 24 and 25, over 150 Highland Park students from Grades K - 5 participated in the annual Science Fair. Students performed and analyzed experiments, collected and classified a variety of natural materials and created models and displays. Visitors to the fair could find out if expensive laundry detergent is worth the money, learn how neon signs work, discover what liquids cause tooth decay and investigate numerous other science topics.
Seventeen projects were chosen to participate in the City-wide Science Fair at Palmer Auditorium. Fourth grader Austin W's Renewable Energy project took top honors at that fair. We congratulate all of the students who participated in the fair for their creativity, hard work and great science!
