News station K*EYE showed up for our Leadership Austin Kids media announcement, where our sponsors' (linked above) directors & Assistant Principal Mary Lou Walther, along with the Leadership Austin Kids, announced & unveiled a poster-sized version of a billboard, designed by the kids, to encourage people not to smoke, or to quit if they already do. The event was broadcast on the 6:00 evening news on May 17, the day of the announcement.
The billboard will be up in the 1700 block of W. Anderson Lane between mid-May & mid-June, & includes a credit for the Highland Park Leadership Austin Kids. Enjoy the pictures below from the big day & the culmination of their work toward their community service project!
