2nd Graders Emerge From Their Cocoons to Discover a New World!
The Second Grade classes went to the fun-filled Wild Connections Butterfly Farm & Nature Center in Oak Hill on September 21 as part of the study we had recently done on butterflies.
We went on a hiking scavenger hunt searching for living and nonliving things. We ate a brown-bag lunch in the cool shade of the picnic area before being entertained by Farmer Julie with fascinating facts about butterflies. She used props to show the kids important parts of a butterflys body. We then went to the Butterfly House where we got to see dozens of butterflies and caterpillars. It was a fantastic trip!
