Welcome to ancient Egypt! 4th graders recently read The Magnificent Mummy Maker in our Language Arts class. We decided to create our own 3-D lifesize mummies. The students researched how the ancient Egyptians created mummies and why they did it.

We also have on display our names in cartouches (a way of writing your name, surrounded by rope for protection) made with salt dough hieroglyphics, ankhs (mirrored symbols of life) with our future plans on them, and finally each student wrote a mystery story with some aspect of ancient Egypt in it. We hope everyone enjoys our work!
