1. You build the armature or skeleton for your fish out of an empty dishwashing liquid bottle. Decide what end to make the head and the tail. Use crumpled newspaper to smooth out the shape. Cut fins and tail out of poster board and tape them into place. Tape on lids and eggcarton pieces for eyes.

2. Cover the armature smoothly with 3 layers of papier mache.

3, Color the fish with butcher paper that is torn into tiny pieces and dipped in papier mache paste. Cut out concentric circles for eyes and papier mache them into place.

4. Draw on scales with a black marker and lacquer the fish to make it shiney. With a glue gun attach a string from which the fish can be hung.
