Uncle Jed's Barbershop
The book was about a little girl named Sara Jean who has an uncle
named Uncle Jed. He was so kind to Sara Jean and her family.
He would always tell Sara Jean about that some day in the future that
he would open a barbershop.
One day Sara Jean got sick and had to go to the hospital. In the hospital
there was a room for colored people only, and a room for white people only.
The hospital couldn't do the operation until they had the money. It cost three
hundred dollars to do the operation. They asked their Uncle Jed for some money,
but all Uncle Jed said was that the money didn't matter. He wouldn't let anything
happen to his Sara Jean.
The more Uncle Jed came to visit Sara Jean, the better she became.
One day Uncle Jed came over after dinner. Then they heard a knock at the
door. It was Mr.Ernest Walters. He came to tell Uncle Jed that the bank was
failing. Uncle Jed had over three thousand dollars in the bank, and that it was
all gone. But all Uncle Jed said was that he would have to start all over
again.
Well I don't want to spoil the book for you so I better let you finish
it.
