This book is about a little boy named Caleb and his horse, Dandy. When a new family moves to the prairie, Caleb meets them, and becomes friends with Athens, the family's daughter. One day Caleb wanted to ride Dandy into the west, and he saw Indians. A boy from the tribe wanted to have a race with Caleb. Caleb won the race and the Indian's respect. For people who like horses, they would like this book . It's a good adventure. The only boring part was when Caleb rode into the west, but the rest of the book is exciting.
