Bird: Gyr Falcon

Scientific Name: Falco Rusticolus

Physical Characteristics: The largest falcon in the world .Gyr falcons have three plumage phases: gray, black, and white,with the dark eye notched back, and has pointed wings typical for a falcon. The size and color of this bird leaves no doubt about its indentity.

Habitat description:
Rocky sea coast and inland near bird colonies. Rivers with rock bluffs and mountains above the timber line are home to the gyr falcon breeding grounds.

Diet
Although they primarily feed on birds, the Gyr falcon's diet is mammals in its diet, including ground squirrels and hares.
