FIFTH GRADE ISLAND LANDFORMS

Mrs. Fojtik's Fifth grade Science classes studied Landforms. In this unit we studied Maps, Erosion, Weathering, Geology, Geography, Elevation, Sea Levels, and much more. As part of the Landforms Unit the Fifth grade made three dimensional Islands made of clay. In these models, they had to incorporate ten different specified landforms and label them. The students also had to write a travel brochure for their islands giving descriptions of the landforms and the resort on the island. The students had to take into account weathering, erosion, and survival needs in deciding the location of their resort. The following are examples of just a few of the islands, along with their travel brochures.
