The Minotaur was a fearsome half-man half-bull monster in ancient Greece.

The minotaur was kept in a maze called a labyrinth. Every nine years the king of Crete, named Minos, demanded that the Athenians give seven young men & seven young women as sacrifices for the minotaur.

There have been new findings on the island of Crete that there may have been a real labrinth with bulls inside.
