Fourth graders at Highland Park explore "The Arts" after reading novels related to artists or museums such as From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E. L. Konigsburg. Students participate in a variety of activities centered around artists, poetry, visual arts, fairy tales, music, and the performing arts. After researching a chosen artist, students create presentations on that artist and his/her work. These slide shows are one element of those presentations.
