Poetry and Art Projects of the Rainforest
Reid

As I walk through the rainforest
I watch as a leopard stalks his prey.
A sloth moves slowly down a towering tree.
I listen to the soft buzzes as I walk,
While I return to my tribe.
Cam

The long winding streams of the rainforests
move swiftly with the current over the smooth rocks.
I hear the tiny ripples in the water.
Jennifer
The magnificent rainforest is wet and damp
With the fragrant smell of blooming flowers.
The sounds all around alert the prey.
Time to hide and stay away.
Bradley
The towering trees in the Amazon rainforest
almost reach the sky.
So slender, so tall, so beautiful,
I would love for one to be mine.
Amy
The toucan flew into the air,
As the snake looked for his lunch.
With the flowers blooming all around.
Lea
As the jaguar sways through the blinding leaves,
Climbing trees, hunting for food,
creeping through the rainforests,
The beasts of the forest cower in fear.
Lauren
Trees in the forest
Tower over me with huge
Rich, green leaves on them
Tristan
The slow and sleepy sloth,
Scratches his head while eating,
An eagle sees the sloth,
Soon it's caught and screaming.
Jacqueline
Butterflies flying everywhere,
Leopards, sleeping, jumping,
Animals, plants, moss together sharing,
Two people looking for things,
To take home from the jungle,
The flowers blue, red, yellow, green,
The people leave the jungle alone,
Taking their memories with them.
