State Flag: The state flag was adopted in 1913. Centered on a dark
blue field is the four-part Wisconsin shield symbolizing Wisconsin's
agriculture, mining navigation, and manufacturing. In its center is the
United States shield. A sailor stands at the left of the Wisconsin shield,
and a miner at the right. Above it is a Badger and below are a horn of
plenty and a pyramid of pig lead.The state motto "Forward", and a band
of thirteen original colonies are above and below. Above and below them are
the name "Wisconsin" and "1848," the year of statehood.
